Porto ICRE'19 invites you to submit abstracts from October 25th, 2018, to January 20th, 2019. You may choose between an individual oral presentation, a symposium or a poster presentation. Proposals should be included in one of the following themes: (a) Teacher Education; (b) Special Education and Inclusion; (c) Culture, Art and Education; (d) Society Challenges and Education.

Proposals must be submitted electronically in English, Portuguese or Spanish. For each accepted submission with less than five authors (individual oral presentation, presentation in a symposium or poster), at least one of the authors must register for the proposal to be included in the conference program. If an accepted submission has five or more authors, at least two authors must register.

Each participant is limited to three submissions at the category of Individual oral presentation , either as first or as co-author. Posters and Symposia presentions are not included in this limite.

A registered author can assume the role of Chair.

Submission Rules

Abstract Submissions

- The abstract should have no more than 500 words, excluding bibliographic references. It should included 3 to 5 keywords.

-Each participant is limited to three submissions at the category of Individual oral presentation , either as first or as co-author. Posters and Symposia presentions are not included in this limite.

- The languages accepted are: Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish or English.

- The abstract must be submitted online, so the text format is automatic .

- This is a "blind" review. It won't be necessary to send your CV. All the information related to the authors of the abstracts won't be available for the reviewers.

-Presentation types: by submitting an abstract, you can suggested a presentation type - Individual Oral Presentation or Poster Presentation. Nevertheless, the decision about your abstract's presentation type will be taken by the review team. After receiving the acceptance email, you can check your final presentation type at your personal area of the website.

Individual oral presentation

Individual oral presentations should include empirical research with results and its discussion, meta-analysis or systematic reviews. Oral presentations will be organised in 90-minute thematic sessions, which will consist of four 15-minute presentations on similar themes and debate at the end of the four presentations. Abstracts for oral presentations must be submitted following the instructions provided.

Individual papers can also be presented virtually if the author(s) cannot attend the Conference. In this case, authors are asked to submit the multimedia file with the oral presentation in their personal area of the website until July 10th 2019. Virtual presentations will be scheduled in Thematic Sessions, according to the topic, as in situ presentations. Registration is mandatory in both cases, as referred above.

Accepted abstracts will be published in the Abstract Book. Authors are invited to submit their papers for peer review and possible publication in a special issue of the inED journal, Sensos-e (http://parc.ipp.pt/index.php/sensos).

Symposium

The symposia provides the researchers an opportunity to present research on a topic, integrated in a coherent group of works.

The proposal for a symposium must be submitted by the Coordinator of the work group, using the platform, on the area PROPOSALS.

A proposal consist of an abstract that aggregates all the communications (with a maximum of 500 words), and 3 to 5 abstract communications each with no more than 500 words, excluding bibliographic references, and 3 to 5 keywords.

When submitting the proposal, the coordinator must list all the other authors on the field MEMBERS.

Each symposium has a minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 communications of 15 minutes, and must integrate researchers from at least two countries.

These sessions have 90 minutes to present the communications.

The moderation of the symposium must be ensured by the Coordinator of the work group.

Poster presentation

Posters are graphical presentations that will be displayed during the Conference and will be discussed in thematic poster sessions. Posters should be prepared in the appropriate format, according to the guidelines provided on the website. Authors should be available to answer questions during the poster sessions, in the lunch time. The presentation must not exceed 5 min.

Printing Service

There is a printing a service available. This requires both a subscription to this specific service as well the submission of the Poster as a PDF file on the personal area of the website, abstract tab. The Poster must respect the layout that this defined and uploaded until the the 7th of July 2019.

If the participants subscribe to the printing service, the conference’s staff ensures printing, transportation of the poster to the venue as well as posting. You can do so through your personal area.
